Biography

Jessica Williams is one of two administrative staff with the Irsay Institute and splits her time with the Social Science Research Commons (SSRC). Jessica has worked for the university since 2011, spending 12 years in the Department of Political Science from 2011 until July 2023.

Jessica is an alumna of IU. She earned her BA in Telecommunications with a concentration in video production & design, content programming, and a minor in history. As a student, she was a member of the IU Marching Hundred, Big Red Basketball Band, and Kappa Kappa Psi honorary service fraternity.

Jessica is married to fellow IU alumnus, Eric Smedley, Jacobs’ School of Music Faculty and Director of Athletic Bands. Jessica and Eric live in Bloomington with their daughter Ella, and Bedlington Terriers, Piper and Finn.
