Biography
Anne Kavalerchik is a dual-Ph.D. candidate in Sociology and Informatics (Complex Systems). As a computational social scientist, her research looks at the social underpinnings and implications of “data-drivenness”, primarily using scientific publications, patent filings, and other text sources. In her dissertation, she investigates how the development of AI-based medical diagnosis complicates contemporary notions of medical and scientific expertise.
