September is Suicide Prevention Month, and Oxford University Press has made the first chapter of Irsay Senior Research Program Leader Anna Mueller’s latest book, Life under Pressure: The Social Roots of Youth Suicide and What to Do About Them available for free.

Her transformative study, co-written with Seth Abrutyn, deepens our understanding of why youth die by suicide, why youth suicide clusters happen — and how to stop them.

In May, Mueller and Abrutyn joined Malcolm Gladwell for an hourlong conversation at The 92nd Street Y, New York, a culture and community center in New York City, the recording of which can be viewed here. Earlier this year, Life under Pressure was profiled in a News at IU story.
